The Watauga Pioneers basketball team scored 55 points and limited the host Freedom Patriots to 53 in the Pioneers league triumph on Wednesday.

The Pioneers now have a 14-2 record. They play next when they host Ashe County for a game on Friday, February 14. Watauga will confront a Huskies team coming off a 71-35 league loss to South Caldwell (Hudson, NC). The Huskies record now stands at 0-16.

With the loss, Freedom falls to 15-5 on the campaign. The Patriots host Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC) to confront the Cougars in a game on Friday, February 14. The Cougars go into the game with a record of 10-9. Alexander Central won 47-40 in their recent non-league game against Hibriten (Lenoir, NC)
