The crowd at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Tohatchi Cougars (Tohatchi, NM) and the host Thoreau Hawks (Thoreau, NM), saw Tohatchi's basketball team nip Thoreau by a tally of 41-34.
The Cougars now possess a 14-3 record. They play next when they travel to Newcomb for a non-league bout on Friday, February 14. Tohatchi will play a Skyhawks team coming off a 58-42 non-league win over Wingate (Fort Wingate, NM). The Skyhawks record now stands at 3-13.
With the loss, Thoreau falls to 8-7 on the campaign. The Hawks travel to Zuni (Zuni, NM) to play the Thunderbirds in a non-league bout on Saturday, February 15. The Thunderbirds go into the bout with a record of 4-6.
