Carlsbad Cavemen (Carlsbad, NM) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Clovis Wildcats (Clovis, NM), 53-49 in a league bout.

With the win, Carlsbad upgrades its record to 18-7 on the season. The Cavemen host Hobbs (Hobbs, NM) to clash with the Eagles in a 5A District 4 bout on Friday, February 17. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 14-11. Hobbs won 79-75 in their recent league bout against Roswell (Roswell, NM)

Next up, the Wildcats clash with the Roswell Coyotes (Roswell, NM) in a 5A District 4 bout, on Friday, February 17. Clovis will attempt to upgrade on its 10-14 season record. The Coyotes go into the bout with a 12-13 record after their 79-75 league loss to Hobbs (Hobbs, NM).
