The Pope County Pirates basketball team scored 73 points and held the visiting Egyptian Pharaohs to 32 in the Pirates non-league triumph on Monday.

The Pirates now sport a 20-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Hardin County for a Greater Egyptian contest on Wednesday, February 15. Pope County will battle a Cougars team coming off a 45-43 league loss to Gallatin County (Junction, IL). The Cougars record now stands at 6-20.

The Pharaohs (3-23) will now prepare for their contest against Anna-Jonesboro (Anna, IL). The Wildcats enter the non-league contest with a 10-18 record. In their last contest, Anna-Jonesboro was routed by DuQuoin (DuQuoin, IL), 56-45, in a league contest.
