In Tuesday's non-league game, the visiting Neshoba Central Rockets baseball team scored a tight 12-5 victory over the Newton County Cougars.
The Rockets (1-0) will now prepare for their game against Kosciusko (Kosciusko, MS). The Whippets go into the non-league game with a 0-1 record. In their last game, Kosciusko was overwhelmed by East Webster (Maben, MS), 4-1, in a non-league game.
The Cougars (0-1) will now prepare for their game against Clinton (Clinton, MS). The Arrows go into the non-league game with a 1-0 record. In their last game, Clinton tipped Pearl (Pearl, MS), 3-2, in a non-league game.
