North Carolina High School Basketball - Neuse Charter edges Lakewood

February 13, 2024: Smithfield, NC 27577

The Neuse Charter Cougars (Smithfield, NC) basketball nipped the visiting Lakewood Leopards (Roseboro, NC), 57-50 in Tuesday's league test.

The Cougars (9-18) will now prepare for their test against Union (Rose Hill, NC). The Spartans go into the 1A Carolina test with a 0-20 record. In their last test, Union was tipped by Hobbton (Newton Grove, NC), 62-22, in a league test.

The Leopards now own a 8-11 record. They play next when they host Rosewood for a 1A Carolina test on Thursday, February 15. Lakewood will encounter a Eagles squad coming off a 73-34 league loss to North Duplin (Calypso, NC). The Eagles record now stands at 12-10.
