Tohatchi Cougars (Tohatchi, NM) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Newcomb Skyhawks (Newcomb, NM), 65-56 in a league bout.

With the victory, Tohatchi upgrades its record to 15-8 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Wingate (Fort Wingate, NM) to play the Bears in a 3A District 1 bout on Thursday, February 15. The Bears come into the bout with a record of 6-15. Wingate lost 60-19 in their recent league bout against Navajo Prep (Farmington, NM)

Next up, the Skyhawks play the Crownpoint Eagles (Crownpoint, NM) in a 3A District 1 bout, on Thursday, February 15. Newcomb will attempt to upgrade on its 13-9 season record. The Eagles come into the bout with a 3-20 record after their 66-28 league loss to Zuni (Zuni, NM).
