With the victory, South improves its record to 3-14 on the campaign. The Cougars host Maize (Maize, KS) to play the Eagles in a Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail I challenge on Friday, February 16. The Eagles come into the challenge with a record of 10-7. Maize won 75-33 in their recent non-league challenge against Arkansas City (Arkansas City, KS)

Next up, the Railroaders play the Andover Trojans (Andover, KS) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, February 16. Newton will attempt to improve on its 2-13 season record. The Trojans come into the challenge with a 13-4 record after their 70-51 league loss to Andover Central (Andover, KS).
