New Mexico High School Basketball - Belen thwarts Highland

February 13, 2024: Albuquerque, NM 87108

The Belen Eagles (Belen, NM) basketball knocked off the host Highland Hornets (Albuquerque, NM), 52-40 in Tuesday's league test.

The Eagles (9-14) will now prepare for their test against Del Norte (Albuquerque, NM). The Knights go into the non-league test with a 10-13 record. In their last test, Del Norte notched a victory over Bernalillo (Bernalillo, NM), 38-35, in a league test.

The Hornets now own a 10-12 record. They play next when they host Grants for a 4A District 5 test on Friday, February 16. Highland will encounter a Pirates squad coming off a 53-18 league loss to St. Pius X (Albuquerque, NM). The Pirates record now stands at 4-19.
