South Medford Panthers (Medford, OR) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Grants Pass Cavemen (Grants Pass, OR), 34-29 in a league bout.

With the victory, South Medford upgrades its record to 18-3 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Willamette (Eugene, OR) to play the Wolverines in a 6A Southwest bout on Friday, February 16. The Wolverines come into the bout with a record of 17-6. Willamette won 81-24 in their recent league bout against South Eugene (Eugene, OR)

Next up, the Cavemen play the Sheldon Irish (Eugene, OR) in a 6A Southwest bout, on Friday, February 16. Grants Pass will attempt to upgrade on its 14-9 season record. The Irish come into the bout with a 11-10 record after their 56-45 non-league loss to Crater (Central Point, OR).
