Asheboro Blue Comets (Asheboro, NC) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Ledford Panthers (Thomasville, NC), 48-44 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Asheboro upgrades its record to 9-10 on the campaign. The Blue Comets host North Davidson (Lexington, NC) to play the Black Knights in a non-league bout on Friday, February 16. The Black Knights come into the bout with a record of 8-12. North Davidson won 49-38 in their recent non-league bout against Oak Grove (Winston-Salem, NC)

Next up, the Panthers play the Oak Grove Grizzlies (Winston-Salem, NC) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, February 15. Ledford will attempt to upgrade on its 7-12 season record. The Grizzlies come into the bout with a 13-7 record after their 49-38 non-league loss to North Davidson (Lexington, NC).
