Southside Sharks (Youngsville, LA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host St. Amant Gators (St. Amant, LA), 10-8 in a non-league challenge.

The Sharks now sport a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they host New Iberia for a 5A District 3 challenge on Thursday, February 15.

With the loss, St. Amant falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Gators travel to Hahnville (Boutte, LA) to face the Tigers in a non-league challenge on Thursday, February 15. The Tigers enter the challenge with a record of 0-1. Hahnville lost 10-0 in their recent non-league challenge against St. Thomas More (Lafayette, LA)
