In Thursday's league contest, the host Corona/Vaughn Cardinals basketball team scored a close 54-53 triumph over the Carrizozo Grizzlies.
The Cardinals (3-18) will now prepare for their contest against Alamo Navajo (Magdalena, NM). The Cougars go into the A District 3 contest with a 16-7 record. In their last contest, Alamo Navajo was tipped by Mountainair (Mountainair, NM), 78-50, in a league contest.
In their next game, the Grizzlies battle the Alamo Navajo Cougars (Magdalena, NM) in a A District 3 contest, on Friday, February 14. Carrizozo will attempt to better on its 5-14 season record. The Cougars go into the contest with a 16-6 record after their 79-31 league win over Hondo Valley (Hondo, NM).
