In Thursday's league contest, the host Ewen-Trout Creek Panthers basketball team scored a good 59-41 triumph over the Ontonagon Gladiators.

The Panthers (12-5) will now prepare for their contest against L'Anse (L'Anse, MI). The Purple Hornets go into the Copper Mountain - Copper County contest with a 9-9 record. In their last contest, L'Anse topped Lake Linden-Hubbell (Lake Linden, MI), 70-60, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Gladiators battle the Johnston Speedboys (Bessemer, MI) in a non-league contest, on Saturday, February 15. Ontonagon will attempt to better on its 8-11 season record. The Speedboys go into the contest with a 9-7 record after their 70-58 league win over Chassell (Chassell, MI).
