In Thursday's non-league contest, the host Seward Seahawks basketball team scored a close 63-60 triumph over the Homer Mariners.
The Seahawks (8-8) will now prepare for their contest against Redington (Wasilla, AK). The Huskies go into the non-league contest with a 9-7 record. In their last contest, Redington nipped Houston (Big Lake, AK), 46-44, in a league contest.
In their next game, the Mariners battle the Kenai Central Kardinals (Kenai, AK) in a 3A Peninsula contest, on Friday, February 21. Homer will attempt to better on its 5-12 season record. The Kardinals go into the contest with a 14-7 record after their 41-29 non-league win over Redington (Wasilla, AK).
