The crowd at Thursday's league challenge between the Western Branch Bruins (Chesapeake, VA) and the visiting Lakeland Cavaliers (Suffolk, VA), observed Western Branch's basketball team knock off Lakeland by a score of 81-65.

The Bruins (10-10) will now prepare for their challenge against Great Bridge (Chesapeake, VA). The Wildcats come into the Southeastern challenge with a 3-17 record. In their last challenge, Great Bridge prevailed over Deep Creek (Chesapeake, VA), 77-59, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Cavaliers encounter the Indian River Braves (Chesapeake, VA) in a Southeastern challenge, on Friday, February 14. Lakeland will attempt to improve on its 7-13 season record. The Braves come into the challenge with a 13-6 record after their 77-58 league loss to Oscar Smith (Chesapeake, VA).
