In Thursday's league test, the Phoebus Phantoms (Hampton, VA) basketball squad got by the host Menchville Monarchs (Newport News, VA), by a score of 71-68.

Next, the Phantoms clash with the Gloucester Dukes (Gloucester, VA) in a Peninsula test, on Monday, February 17. Phoebus will attempt to improve on its 6-15 season record. The Dukes come into the test with a 3-18 record after their 87-48 league loss to Heritage (Newport News, VA).

The Monarchs (4-16) will now prepare for their test against Hampton (Hampton, VA). The Crabbers come into the Peninsula test with a 14-5 record. In their last test, Hampton held off Warwick (Newport News, VA), 56-36, in a league test.
