The Pearl Pirates baseball team scored 17 runs and limited the host Mendenhall Tigers to 10 in the Pirates non-league victory on Tuesday.
The Pirates (1-0) will now prepare for their match against Clinton (Clinton, MS). The Arrows go into the non-league match with a 1-0 record. In their last match, Clinton edged Richland (Richland, MS), 9-1, in a non-league match.
The Tigers (0-1) will now prepare for their match against Simpson Academy (Mendenhall, MS). The Cougars go into the non-league match with a 2-1 record. In their last match, Simpson Academy was overwhelmed by Wayne Academy (Waynesboro, MS), 5-4, in a non-league match.
