Daingerfield Tigers (Daingerfield, TX) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting New Diana Eagles (Diana, TX), 42-41 in a league bout.

With the victory, Daingerfield upgrades its record to 7-9 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to West Rusk (New London, TX) to play the Raiders in a non-league bout on Tuesday, February 21. The Raiders come into the bout with a record of 17-9. West Rusk won 48-47 in their recent non-league bout against Clarksville (Clarksville, TX)

Next up, the Eagles play the Sabine Cardinals (Gladewater, TX) in a 3A Region II District 15 bout, on Friday, February 17. New Diana will attempt to upgrade on its 21-7 season record. The Cardinals come into the bout with a 11-19 record after their 59-29 league win over Hughes Springs (Hughes Springs, TX).
