West Carter Comets (Olive Hill, KY) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Elliott County Lions (Sandy Hook, KY), 80-54 in a league bout.

With the win, West Carter upgrades its record to 7-19 on the season. The Comets travel to Fleming County (Flemingsburg, KY) to clash with the Panthers in a non-league bout on Thursday, February 16. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 20-7. Fleming County won 55-48 in their recent non-league bout against Harrison County (Cynthiana, KY)

Next up, the Lions clash with the Greenup County Musketeers (Greenup, KY) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, February 16. Elliott County will attempt to upgrade on its 2-23 season record. The Musketeers go into the bout with a 11-14 record after their 54-44 league loss to Raceland (Raceland, KY).
