Iron Mountain Mountaineers (Iron Mountain, MI) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Kingsford Flivvers (Kingsford, MI), 62-58 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Iron Mountain upgrades its record to 17-1 on the season. The Mountaineers travel to Hancock (Hancock, MI) to clash with the Bulldogs in a Western Peninsula bout on Friday, February 17. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a record of 5-10. Hancock won 45-44 in their recent non-league bout against Dollar Bay (Dollar Bay, MI)

Next up, the Flivvers clash with the Escanaba Eskymos (Escanaba, MI) in a Great Northern U.P. bout, on Thursday, February 16. Kingsford will attempt to upgrade on its 12-3 season record. The Eskymos go into the bout with a 9-5 record after their 68-49 league loss to Marquette (Marquette, MI).
