Kansas High School Basketball - South ripped by Newton

The Newton Railroaders basketball team scored 71 points and held the host South Cougars to 47 in the Railroaders non-league triumph on Tuesday.

The Railroaders now sport a 2-15 record. They put it on the line next when they host Andover for a non-league contest on Friday, February 17. Newton will meet a Trojans team coming off a 60-33 league win over Andover Central (Andover, KS). The Trojans record now stands at 15-2.

The Cougars (1-16) will now prepare for their contest against Maize (Maize, KS). The Eagles enter the Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail I contest with a 7-10 record. In their last contest, Maize triumphed over Arkansas City (Arkansas City, KS), 60-55, in a non-league contest.
