In Tuesday's non-league match, the visiting Solon Spartans basketball team scored a decisive 80-42 triumph over the Vinton-Shellsburg Vikings.
In their next game, the Spartans meet the Washington Demons (Washington, IA) in a non-league match, on Thursday, February 16. Solon will attempt to move on its 15-4 season record. The Demons enter the match with a 1-1 record after their 68-49 non-league win over Ottumwa (Ottumwa, IA).
With the defeat, Vinton-Shellsburg moves to 5-17 on the year.
