Rockford Christian Royal Lions (Rockford, IL) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Lutheran Crusaders (Rockford, IL), 97-89 in a league bout.

With the win, Rockford Christian upgrades its record to 20-7 on the season.

Next up, the Crusaders play the Normal University Pioneers (Normal, IL) in a non-league bout, on Friday, February 16. Lutheran will attempt to upgrade on its 19-11 season record. The Pioneers go into the bout with a 19-11 record after their 58-56 non-league loss to Mahomet-Seymour (Mahomet, IL).
