Vergennes Commodores (Vergennes, VT) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Missisquoi Valley Thunderbirds (Swanton, VT), 62-50 in a league bout.

With the victory, Vergennes upgrades its record to 14-5 on the campaign. The Commodores travel to Mt. Abraham (Bristol, VT) to play the Eagles in a Lake bout on Friday, February 16. The Eagles come into the bout with a record of 7-12. Mt. Abraham won 53-33 in their recent league bout against Middlebury (Middlebury, VT)

Next up, the Thunderbirds play the Milton Yellowjackets (Milton, VT) in a Lake bout, on Saturday, February 17. Missisquoi Valley will attempt to upgrade on its 9-10 season record. The Yellowjackets come into the bout with a 6-14 record after their 55-52 non-league win over Enosburg Falls (Enosburg Falls, VT).
