Cape Hatteras Hurricanes (Buxton, NC) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Columbia Wildcats (Columbia, NC), 62-42 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Cape Hatteras upgrades its record to 8-5 on the campaign.

Next up, the Wildcats play the Mattamuskeet Lakers (Swan Quarter, NC) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, February 15. Columbia will attempt to upgrade on its 2-10 season record. The Lakers come into the bout with a 1-8 record after their 37-35 non-league loss to Cape Hatteras (Buxton, NC).
