Texas High School Baseball - La Feria defeats Mercedes

In Friday's non-league contest, the host La Feria Lions baseball squad scored a tight 6-1 triumph over the Mercedes Tigers.

With the triumph, La Feria moves its record to 1-0 on the season. The Lions host Lyford (Lyford, TX) to confront the Bulldogs in a non-league contest on Monday, February 24. The Bulldogs come into the contest with a record of 1-0.

The Tigers now possess a 0-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Donna for a 5A Region IV District 32 contest on Tuesday, February 18. Mercedes will confront a Redskins squad coming off a 7-1 non-league win over Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest (Pharr, TX). The Redskins record now stands at 2-0.
