Athens Bulldogs (The Plains, OH) supporters left the game happy Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad run past the visiting Alexander Spartans (Albany, OH), 64-56 in a league match.

With the victory, Athens advances its record to 11-9 on the year. The Bulldogs travel to Marietta (Marietta, OH) to face the Tigers in a non-league match on Tuesday, February 18. The Tigers enter the match with a record of 16-4. Marietta won 65-55 in their recent non-league match against International Sports Academy (Willoughby, OH)

The Spartans now own a 6-15 record. They put it on the line next when they host River Valley for a Tri-Valley I match on Saturday, February 15. Alexander will face a Raiders squad coming off a 92-50 league loss to Meigs (Pomeroy, OH). The Raiders record now stands at 2-19.
