The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Glenvar Highlanders (Salem, VA) and the visiting James River Knights (Buchanan, VA), observed Glenvar's basketball team overwhelm James River by a score of 63-35.

The Highlanders (16-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Salem (Salem, VA). The Spartans come into the non-league challenge with a 17-4 record. In their last challenge, Salem trounced Hidden Valley (Roanoke, VA), 66-62, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Knights encounter the Alleghany Cougars (Covington, VA) in a Three Rivers challenge, on Monday, February 17. James River will attempt to improve on its 7-18 season record. The Cougars come into the challenge with a 14-7 record after their 67-61 league loss to Floyd County (Floyd, VA).
