Virginia High School Basketball - L.C. Bird sneaks past Monacan

February 14, 2025: Richmond, VA 23236

The L.C. Bird Skyhawks (Chesterfield, VA) basketball edged the host Monacan Chiefs (Richmond, VA), 70-65 in Friday's league bout.

The Skyhawks now possess a 16-4 record. They play next when they travel to Huguenot for a Dominion bout on Monday, February 17. L.C. Bird will play a Falcons team coming off a 76-30 league win over Richmond City School of the Arts (Richmond, VA). The Falcons record now stands at 7-10.

With the loss, Monacan falls to 16-5 on the campaign. The Chiefs travel to Powhatan (Powhatan, VA) to play the Indians in a Dominion bout on Tuesday, February 18. The Indians go into the bout with a record of 11-9. Powhatan lost 54-48 in their recent league bout against Clover Hill (Midlothian, VA)
