The crowd at Friday's non-league challenge between the West Carter Comets (Olive Hill, KY) and the visiting Magoffin County Hornets (Salyersville, KY), observed West Carter's basketball team overwhelm Magoffin County by a score of 64-42.

The Comets (5-21) will now prepare for their challenge against Menifee County (Frenchburg, KY). The Wildcats come into the non-league challenge with a 4-20 record. In their last challenge, Menifee County was routed by Lewis County (Vanceburg, KY), 72-44, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Hornets encounter the Martin County Cardinals (Inez, KY) in a District 57 challenge, on Monday, February 17. Magoffin County will attempt to improve on its 7-17 season record. The Cardinals come into the challenge with a 17-9 record after their 101-89 league win over Johnson Central (Paintsville, KY).
