In Friday's non-league contest, the visiting Tawas Area Braves basketball team scored a big 49-19 triumph over the Whittemore-Prescott Cardinals.
The Braves (5-12) will now prepare for their contest against Alcona (Lincoln, MI). The Tigers go into the North Star contest with a 16-3 record. In their last contest, Alcona was trounced by Ogemaw Heights (West Branch, MI), 54-44, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Cardinals battle the Heston Academy Patriots (St. Helen, MI) in a North Star contest, on Tuesday, February 18. Whittemore-Prescott will attempt to better on its 1-17 season record. The Patriots go into the contest with a 15-5 record after their 45-30 league win over Rogers City (Rogers City, MI).
