The crowd at Friday's non-league challenge between the Weir Red Riders (Weirton, WV) and the visiting Wheeling Park Patriots (Wheeling, WV), observed Weir's basketball team knock off Wheeling Park by a score of 49-41.

The Red Riders (5-14) will now prepare for their challenge against North Marion (Farmington, WV). The Huskies come into the Big Ten challenge with a 7-9 record. In their last challenge, North Marion was knocked off by Hampshire (Romney, WV), 50-48, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Patriots encounter the Bridgeport Indians (Bridgeport, WV) in a non-league challenge, on Wednesday, February 19. Wheeling Park will attempt to improve on its 5-12 season record. The Indians come into the challenge with a 16-1 record after their 57-38 league win over Robert C. Byrd (Clarksburg, WV).
