In Friday's league contest, the host Grants Pass Cavemen basketball team scored a close 55-48 win over the Sheldon Irish.
The Cavemen (16-6) will now prepare for their contest against North Medford (Medford, OR). The Black Tornado come into the 6A Southwest contest with a 7-12 record. In their last contest, North Medford edged South Eugene (Eugene, OR), 57-27, in a league contest.
In their next game, the Irish battle the South Eugene Axe (Eugene, OR) in a 6A Southwest contest, on Tuesday, February 18. Sheldon will attempt to better on its 10-10 season record. The Axe come into the contest with a 5-17 record after their 57-27 league loss to North Medford (Medford, OR).
