Valley Center Hornets (Valley Center, KS) fans went home pleased Friday as they observed their basketball team knock off the visiting Maize Eagles (Maize, KS), 42-25 in a league challenge.

The Hornets (10-7) will now prepare for their challenge against Maize South (Wichita, KS). The Mavericks come into the Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail I challenge with a 14-2 record. In their last challenge, Maize South prevailed over South (Salina, KS), 45-34, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Eagles encounter the Derby Panthers (Derby, KS) in a Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail I challenge, on Tuesday, February 18. Maize will attempt to improve on its 4-12 season record. The Panthers come into the challenge with a 14-3 record after their 58-54 league loss to Hutchinson (Hutchinson, KS).
