The crowd at Friday's non-league bout between the Grand Prairie Gophers (Grand Prairie, TX) and the host Newman Smith Trojans (Carrollton, TX), observed Grand Prairie's softball team notch a victory over Newman Smith by a tally of 17-0.

The Gophers (2-4) will now prepare for their bout against Berkner (Richardson, TX). The Rams go into the non-league bout with a 2-4 record. In their last bout, Berkner was routed by Naaman Forest (Garland, TX), 12-1, in a non-league bout.

In their next game, the Trojans battle the Sunset Bison (Dallas, TX) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, February 18. Newman Smith will attempt to advance on its 0-3 season record. The Bison go into the bout with a 1-2 record after their 15-3 non-league win over Lamar (Arlington, TX).
