Illinois High School Basketball - Pope County topped by Hardin County

The Hardin County Cougars basketball team scored 55 points and restricted the visiting Pope County Pirates to 41 in the Cougars league victory on Wednesday.
The Cougars now sport a 7-20 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Gallatin County for a non-league contest on Saturday, February 18. Hardin County will battle a Hawks team coming off a 45-43 league win over Hardin County (Elizabethtown, IL). The Hawks record now stands at 12-14.
The Pirates (20-10) will now prepare for their contest against Shawnee (Wolf Lake, IL). The Redskins come into the non-league contest with a 5-15 record. In their last contest, Shawnee dropped by Cobden (Cobden, IL), 51-32, in a non-league contest.
