In Wednesday's non-league battle, the visiting Gilbert Christian Knights soccer squad scored a close 3-1 win over the Safford Bulldogs.
The Knights (16-1) will now prepare for their battle against Benjamin Franklin (Queen Creek, AZ). The Chargers go into the non-league test with a 18-2 record. In their last test, Benjamin Franklin nudged Veritas Prep (Phoenix, AZ), 3-1, in a non-league test.
With the loss, Safford drops to 15-1 on the season.
