In Thursday's non-league game, the host Mountain Brook Spartans baseball team scored a tight 10-6 victory over the Pelham Panthers.
The Spartans (1-0) will now prepare for their game against Hueytown (Hueytown, AL). The Golden Gophers go into the non-league game with a 1-0 record. In their last game, Hueytown tipped Hayden (Hayden, AL), 5-4, in a non-league game.
The Panthers (0-1) will now prepare for their game against Sylacauga (Sylacauga, AL). The Aggies go into the non-league game with a 0-1 record. In their last game, Sylacauga was overwhelmed by John Carroll Catholic (Birmingham, AL), 10-0, in a non-league game.
