Massachusetts High School Basketball - Auburn can't hold off Oxford

The Oxford Pirates basketball team scored 75 points and held the host Auburn Rockets to 70 in the Pirates league triumph on Thursday.

The Pirates now sport a 8-10 record. They put it on the line next when they host Maynard for a non-league contest on Saturday, February 17. Oxford will battle a Tigers team coming off a 65-48 league loss to Clinton (Clinton, MA). The Tigers record now stands at 10-6.

The Rockets (6-12) will now prepare for their contest against Montachusett RVT (Fitchburg, MA). The Bulldogs enter the non-league contest with a 15-3 record. In their last contest, Montachusett RVT was nudged by South (Worcester, MA), 57-44, in a league contest.
