The Ishpeming Hematites basketball team scored 54 points and restricted the visiting Calumet Copper Kings to 34 in the Hematites non-league victory on Thursday.

The Hematites now sport a 11-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Manistique for a Mid-Peninsula contest on Friday, February 16. Ishpeming will battle a Emeralds team coming off a 57-13 non-league win over Engadine (Engadine, MI). The Emeralds record now stands at 7-13.

The Copper Kings (10-10) will now prepare for their contest against Gwinn (Gwinn, MI). The Modeltowners come into the non-league contest with a 3-14 record. In their last contest, Gwinn dropped by Westwood (Ishpeming, MI), 57-30, in a league contest.
