In Thursday's league outing, the Mountainair Mustangs (Mountainair, NM) basketball squad nipped the host Hondo Valley Eagles (Hondo, NM), by a margin of 39-35.
The Mustangs (7-14) will now prepare for their outing against Alamo Navajo (Magdalena, NM). The Cougars go into the A District 3 outing with a 12-10 record. In their last outing, Alamo Navajo got by Carrizozo (Carrizozo, NM), 40-37, in a league outing.
