Smithfield Sentinels (Esmond, RI) followers exited the stadium happy Thursday as they witnessed their ice hockey team achieve victory over the visiting Barrington Eagles (Barrington, RI), 8-0 in a league contest.

With the victory, Smithfield moves its record to 7-0 on the campaign. The Sentinels travel to Narragansett (Narragansett, RI) to face the Mariners in a contest on Sunday, February 18. The Mariners go into the contest with a record of 14-3. Narragansett won 3-2 in their recent league contest against La Salle Academy (Providence, RI)

The Eagles now sport a 3-9 record. They take the field next when they host Toll Gate for a State Championship Division contest on Friday, February 16. Barrington will face a Titans squad coming off a 8-0 league loss to La Salle Academy (Providence, RI). The Titans record now stands at 0-16.
