Sacred Heart Trojans (Ville Platte, LA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Port Barre Red Devils (Port Barre, LA), 4-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Trojans now sport a 2-0 record. They take the field next when they host Carencro for a non-league challenge on Monday, February 19. Sacred Heart will face a Bears squad coming off a 17-6 non-league loss to Breaux Bridge (Breaux Bridge, LA). The Bears record now stands at 0-1.

With the loss, Port Barre falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Red devils host Catholic of Pointe Coupee (New Roads, LA) to face the Hornets in a non-league challenge on Saturday, February 17. The Hornets enter the challenge with a record of 2-0. Catholic of Pointe Coupee won 8-7 in their recent non-league challenge against Central (Baton Rouge, LA)
