The Valdez Buccaneers basketball squad (Valdez, AK), was crushed 84-57 in Saturday's non-league battle with the visiting Lathrop Malemutes (Fairbanks, AK)
With the victory, Lathrop advances its record to 12-10 on the year. The Malemutes host Monroe Catholic (Fairbanks, AK) to meet the Rams in a 4A Mid Alaska battle on Thursday, February 27. The Rams enter the battle with a record of 11-7.
The Buccaneers now own a 8-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host Hutchison for a 3A Aurora battle on Friday, February 21. Valdez will meet a Hawks squad coming off a 60-58 league win over Galena (Galena, AK). The Hawks record now stands at 7-8.
