The Proviso East Pirates (Maywood, IL) basketball edged the visiting Leyden Eagles (Franklin Park, IL), 61-58 in Saturday's league bout.
The Pirates now possess a 18-9 record. They play next when they host Thornton Fractional North for a non-league bout on Tuesday, February 18. Proviso East will play a Meteors team coming off a 80-63 league loss to Oak Lawn (Oak Lawn, IL). The Meteors record now stands at 14-11.
With the loss, Leyden falls to 8-20 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Addison Trail (Addison, IL) to play the Blazers in a West Suburban - Gold bout on Tuesday, February 18. The Blazers go into the bout with a record of 15-13. Addison Trail lost 77-55 in their recent league bout against Downers Grove South (Downers Grove, IL)
