The Liberty Mountaineers basketball team scored 61 points and limited the host Petersburg Vikings to 57 in the Mountaineers non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Mountaineers now have a 8-7 record. They play next when they host Elkins for a Big Ten game on Tuesday, February 18. Liberty will confront a Tigers team coming off a 47-32 non-league loss to Charleston Catholic (Charleston, WV). The Tigers record now stands at 7-9.

With the loss, Petersburg falls to 7-8 on the campaign. The Vikings host East Hardy (Baker, WV) to confront the Cougars in a Potomac Valley A game on Monday, February 17. The Cougars go into the game with a record of 11-5. East Hardy won 49-37 in their recent non-league game against Tygarts Valley (Mill Creek, WV)
