The crowd at Saturday's league challenge between the Essex Hornets (Essex Junction, VT) and the visiting Champlain Valley Union Redhawks (Hinesburg, VT), witnessed Essex's ice hockey team hold off Champlain Valley Union by a score of 2-1.

The Hornets (9-7) will now prepare for their challenge against South Burlington (South Burlington, VT). The Wolves come into the challenge with a 11-6 record. In their last challenge, South Burlington was nipped by Rice Memorial (South Burlington, VT), 6-3, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Redhawks battle the Bellows Free Academy Bobwhites/Comets (St. Albans, VT) in a challenge, on Wednesday, February 19. Champlain Valley Union will attempt to better on its 6-10 season record.
