Rector Cougars (Rector, AR) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Earle Bulldogs (Earle, AR), 56-52 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Rector upgrades its record to 20-4 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to East Poinsett County (Lepanto, AR) to play the Warriors in a non-league bout on Friday, February 17. The Warriors come into the bout with a record of 13-14. East Poinsett County won 68-61 in their recent non-league bout against Bay (Bay, AR)

Next up, the Bulldogs play the Lee Trojans (Marianna, AR) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, February 22. Earle will attempt to upgrade on its 7-12 season record. The Trojans come into the bout with a 22-5 record after their 65-53 non-league win over Carlisle (Carlisle, AR).
