In Thursday's non-league outing, the South Paulding Spartans (Douglasville, GA) basketball squad edged the host Langston Hughes Panthers (Fairburn, GA), by a count of 57-52.

The Spartans (21-6) will now prepare for their outing against Alexander (Douglasville, GA). The Cougars go into the AAAAAA Region 5 outing with a 21-5 record. In their last outing, Alexander held off Paulding County (Dallas, GA), 72-67, in a non-league outing.
